    • HRWL Written and Practical Assessment

    • Dogger High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Other non licence trainees for this HRWL activity, do not have to be over 18 yrs old.
      • However, if you are under 18 yrs old, you must complete formal theory training successfully before being allowed to work under the supervision of a licensed dogger or rigger on a logbook.
    • Evidence of identity (Photo).
    • Prefer two forms of I.D. i.e. passport or Australian drivers licence, birth certificate.
    • 100 points required for lodgement of assessment.
    • Signed photo ID.
    • Adequate English language numeracy and literacy skills.
      • If not, please contact us. We can help.
    • Steel cap boots, high visibility shirt, hard hat, safety glasses.
      • We recommend long sleeve shirts, long trousers and UV sunscreen. Steel cap runners are not acceptable. Safety sunglasses may be acceptable. Leather gloves recommended, whistle.
    • Reasonable health fit for dogging work.
      • You must advise us of any health issues that may place you or others at risk. This will not preclude your enrollment, but will allow us to determine appropriate adjustments to your training and physical activities.


  • Bookings for your Dogging Course in Brisbane and Sunshine Coast can be made either over the phone or by email.

    NOTE: We are running Dogger and Work at Heights during the week 2-6 Jan 2018

  • If you have no experience but are prepared to turn up to our yard for more training we will be happy to provide it until you are comfortable.

    Here are two examples:

    1. Basic Scaffold Course: Adam started his course with us but was not confident with his practical skills during the first week of training, so he came back over the next two weeks on relevant days to gain more experience. He “smashed” his practical assessment on the third week and gained tube and coupler experience along the way.
    2. Crane up to 60 Tonnes (C6) Course: Paul wanted to become a crane operator. He continued to come into our yard on his days off for weeks before and after he completed his course. That was 12 months ago. Paul has been a full time crane operator for 5 months now.

    You don’t have to complete your course in one week. Our policy is to train you until your are competent and confident.

Description of our Dogging Course:

This dogger course specifies the outcomes required to perform slinging techniques, including the selection and inspection of lifting gear and/or the directing of the crane operator in the movement of the load when the load is out of view of the crane/ operator for licensing purposes.

    Some advice on the dogging course. Our dogging course and the rigger ticket that follows should prepare you for the dogger and rigger jobs and opportunities that are present. Dogger and rigger training should give you a leg up and confidence in what is a high risk industry. While you are considering, be smart about who you do your dogger training with – get it wrong and you’ll have a dogger or riggers ticket but miss out on higher valued training. We are from the rigging industry, we’ve been the employers. We know whats needed! Talk to us. While you are at it, ask us about industry or government funded courses.
